Hi Nick, What you describe is an effort migraine (look it up online, you will learn a lot about it). I suffer from the very same thing and display the exact same /symptoms. Unfortunately, even after 2 years on the 80/10/10 diet I still suffer from them. The only thing I can recommend is to focus on low-impact exercise. For myself, I need to exercise early in the day when it is still cool and focus on low-impact, low-intensity (hiking is great, but if I climb a mountain, I am likely to have one). What happens is that when the bloodflow increase, our veins do not dilate enough to accomodate it and the migraine occurs (as you say, usually 3 hours after the effort). I have played around with drinking tons of water before going (during and after too), eating before, not eating, etc. and so far, nothing has helped. The only thing that seems to help is to lie down as soon as the exercise is over for at least an hour. That has saved me from severe and debilitating effort migraines lately, but it is not really practical...
