so, i tried 80 10 10 for about 3 months a while back and felt great for the most part. in some ways it was challenging. eventually, i quit. allot of what led me to that decision was all the conflicting information i read about whether a raw vegan 80-10-10 diet was ideal. that got me to question whether it was ideal for long term health. i would like to mention, that i do not claim to know what is the optimal diet for human thriving. it does appear that the records we have of our ancestors suggest that we were omnivores who ate cooked and raw food. i did read the book 80 10 10. one of my main concerns was dental health. for i have a history of cavities and have had a root canal before. i read in 80 10 10 that tooth decay is caused by cooked food or dried fruit that sticks to ones teeth. later on i met in costa rica an individual who was an 80 10 10 raw vegan for 3 years. i asked him if he had any dental issues. and he claimed not to have had such problems. however approximately 1 year after that, i corresponded with him. and asked him about his diet. he told me that he is no longer doing raw 80 10 10 because of all the dental problems he was suffering from. and was trying doing 80 10 10 with less fruit and instead eating a diet which included cooked food. what are your folks thoughts on this topic. thank you, ivory.
