Are B12 injections safe?
Can't someone overdose on B12?
One of the possible side effects of B12 injections is anaphylactic shock and even death.
Besides the vitamin B12 in the injection there are other inactive ingredients which include sodium chloride and other chemicals.
Putting anything directly into the blood stream or the muscles and bypassing all of the body's defense systems is not usually a good idea.
I'm not sure why so many people brag about their habit of using these, many who probably don't even have a B12 deficiency. Even those who might have (had) one are using these prophylactically instead of using them to get through symptoms and then fixing the problem and stopping the injections.
Oral tablets do not bypass the defense systems. They also contain inactive ingredients but do not expose the user to the same risks.
