I was just diagnosed with low thyroid also and am scheduled for a thyroid scan in a couple weeks. I have only just begun the 811 diet a few days ago and went in for some blood tests to get a baseline before I began and I found out about the low thyroid.
I'm a little concerned about the radioactive iodine test. I could delay the scan and start eating high iodine foods and get another blood test in a few months instead. Does anyone have any thoughts on the safety of the radioactive iodine test?
