I am currently eating 100% raw. I had to stop during my pregnancy because I could only eat between 800-1200 calories of fruits I had no aversions to (and I had aversions to most!), I couldn't eat any greens (due to food aversions) nor could I eat any nuts or seeds.
I would love to hear any suggestions on how I could have dealt with my pregnancy any differently since I'm sure you're quite knowledgeable about the subject.
Please keep in mind that I also had to care for my son and there was no way I could maintain a pregnancy, take care of a very ACTIVE little boy, PLUS function as a normal human being on less than 1200 calories a day (believe me, I TRIED initially), not to mention being deficient on so many key nutrients living on a famine style diet in order to stay 100% raw.
I am more than willing to stay 100% raw IF the diet is working for me. This is just a diet to me--it is NOT my religion!
Here is what I'm eating these days:
I drink three smoothies a day made with dates, bananas, acid fruit (usually raspberries, strawberries or pineapple) and a teaspoon of chia seeds.
Dinner is a HUGE salad made with spring mix, tomatoes, cucumbers and an overt fat free dressing with mangos blended with basil or some other herb.
Since eating too much overt fat makes Rainbow spit up I limit them to less than 10% of my total calories.
I guess the main things I'm doing "wrong" include:
(1) Combining acid fruit with sweet fruit. (Shame on me!)
(2) Adding a TEENY amount of chia seeds to my smoothies.
(3) Using herbs in my salad dressing (let the enervation begin!)
(4) Using a blender (blenders aren't found in nature!)
(5) I don't always buy organic (most of what I eat IS organic)
(6) I take supplements (B12 and Vitamin D)
Please feel free to add to the list of things I'm doing wrong.
Aloha,
Karmyn
