Subject:         Is it OK to add 10g of flaxseed to date smoothie?

I am experimenting with smoothies that would work best for me.
Plain date smoothie strongly disbalances me and I have no
energy after it. I feel like consuming empty calories.

Would it be OK to add 10 grams of flaxseed to 600 calorie date
smoothie to lower glycemic index a little and add essential
fatty acids, as dates have zero fat? It would be 7% of fat
calories.
