Hi GC,

This reminds me of something I just listened to again today from Dr. Graham's Perfect Health Program, so I thought I'd share. Dr. Graham said something to the effect of, "One of the most difficut aspects of living a truly health creating life is to helpless watch your loved ones destroy themselves through lifestyle habits that YOU know are killing them. They might know too, but they haven't chosen to stop yet. . . . Nonetheless, they are indiviuals; they have to come around in their own time. You have to give them the space. And, the most powerful teaching tools is invariably your example, much more than your words."

I encourage you, GC, to be a shining example to your family -- a shining example through your own actions. Personally, I've never found using the Bible to prove a point to be particularly effective. Striving toward living out what the Bible teaches seems to be a more effective way of communicating for me.

Anyway, I hope this helps a bit. Although I don't relate with cooking for a family (I prepare my own food and my husband prepares his. On rare occasions he will try what I've prepared if I make an 811rv "recipe," but he's not liked anything so far and always supplements with spices and condiments and follows it with cooked SAD foods), I can say that my husband eats raw fruits and vegetables more than ever before. When we first met almost a decade-and-a-half ago, he told me he ate fruit/veg "quarterly" at the most! Yes, 4x per year AT THE MOST! Unless, of course, it was lettuce and tomato on his fast food burger. He was brought up on canned fruit and veg and hated it. Introducing fresh fruit and veg to him opened up a whole new world. Now that I am growing a lot of our greens, he eats even more. Not every day, but I would venture to say at least half the days per week he will eat a piece or two of fresh fruit and maybe even a small raw salad. Progress . . .

Do I worry about him? Yes, to an extent. He "appears" healthy (bloodwork, weight, vitals are always great according to mainstream docs) and I do hope it doesn't take an overt illness to nudge him into making even more shifts in his diet. But, I focus on all the postive changes he continues to make in his life and I am continually amazed (his main focus over the past few years has been his spiritual and relational growth).

Okay enough from me. Best wishes in your situation, GC.
