Two reasons I can think of:
1) she's ignorant
2) she has poor people skills. Even if what she said was true (which I don't believe it is), it is cruel to
sarcastically say to a patient: "Congratulations, you missed out on a
growth spurt." I would not go back to this person, if I were you. There
are plenty of doctors out there who are vegetarians or vegans. Go to
one of them instead. Mark
