A few weeks ago, I put in a mammoth day of exercise, using more than 10K calories for the day, while consuming fewer than 6K calories in total. The day after, I didn't do much at all except eat and rest, honest. :) So, if you look at my diet on the exercise day, you could say I break the laws of thermodynamics (I don't) because I eat less fuel than I burn. If you look at the next day, you could wonder why I eat almost 4000 calories yet put out less than 400 calories of effort for the day. Harley and Freelee eat in accordance with their requirements over the long haul. Micro-assessment of their time can warp the big-picture view of their requirements. Both of them are capable of huge effort, as both are very fit. I've seen Harley put in 8-hour days during which he uses almost 8000 calories. This bespeaks of a high level of fitness indeed. Freelee has ridden huge mileage on her bike, and enjoys a wide variety of fitness activities. I think if you add up their calories in/calorie out for the year, you will find that the balance is indeed extremely close. If their words don't match that balance, or if your understanding of their words doesn't match that balance, let the math do all the talking.
