I don't drink water when I wake up. And there are many days, especially in cooler weather, when I don't drink any water all day. The food I eat, fresh fruit & vegetables, probably contain 80-90% water, if not more. So if I eat 10 lbs (or more) of food, I'm getting at least 8 lbs of water. I think that's a lot. I definitely pee 12 plus times per day. When it's warmer & I'm outside working & exercising/playing for a number of hours a day, I drink some. But nothing like a cooked food eater drinks. I don't think there is a set rule or amount about drinking water. Just stay well hydrated.
