Hi Seth,
Something I really admire about Dr. Graham is that he appears to not be tied to a "regimen" of any sort, but rather listens to his body and respects that.
I was just re-listening to one of his presentations (this one from Raw Mom Summit a couple years back), where he said something to this effect:
"I don't tend to run in a pattern that's quite that regimented. I allow myself to be fairly flexible in my world. I eat when I'm hungry. I have the luxury, for the most part, to be active when I feel like I would like to be active. And, I sleep when I'm sleepy, to some degree. . . . I'm blessed as a man in my middle 50s to have a child that's only 4 years old, and it's my first baby ever. But, sometimes it means getting a little less sleep than I would like to get, simply to give her the attention and time that she needs." He goes on to say that one of his favorite times of day is the morning, "waking up next to my wife and daughter. That's a wonderful thing and I get to spend about an hour or so with my daughter every morning when I wake up; I wait for her to wake up and then we play. And that's a special hour, that hour of play with her."
So, it doesn't sound to me like he has this agenda of, "Oh! I must wake up and drink x amount of ounces of water and then do x amount of intense physical activity so then I can eat my first meal of fruit right after, etc."
He's spoken to drinking according to thirst and to allow for an average of 10 pees in a 24 hr. period. He's even said that he doesn't usually drink water, getting enough through juicy fruits and veg.

"I also never give a unit for water consumption, preferring to recommend that water intake be adjusted to allow for 8-12 urinations every 24 hours. Most days, I drink no water at all."
He spakes about sleeping "enough" (if you want to roll out of bed, rather than hit "snooze" and roll back over, then you've had enough). Eating according to true hunger . . . etc.
I'm not completely familiar with the 30BAD philosophy, but from my limited understanding it appears as though they are targeting a broad audience who may be, at first, out of touch with their bodies' needs -- those who may be coming to this lifestyle in a state of chronic dehydration, restrictive eating practices, etc. I like that Dr. Graham treats each person as an individual coaches him/her to get in touch with those things for themselves.
Anyway, just my thoughts on the matter. Personally, I've found great results through personal consult with Dr. Graham and not mixing and matching philosophies.
