If you don't want to use fluoride you can always try using granulated xylitol on your teeth. Apparently xylitol minimizes the bad bacteria in your mouth allowing the beneficial bacteria to flourish.

You can make a gel by mixing the powder with a little water or you can make a rinse with it (mix it with some warm water).

Check out Dr. Ellie as she has written extensively on the benefits of xylitol.

She's a proponent of conservative amounts of fluoride but if you're not comfortable using it then she recommends that you simply use xylitol.

If you're not comfortable with that idea the best food sources of xylitol are strawberries, raspberries and leafy greens. You can finish each meal with one of these foods as they are protective of the teeth.
