| Subject: | wisdom teeth, TMJ and migraine: is removing them dangerous? |
|
Date: | March 7, 2012 at 8:45 am PST |
I cannot believe that in all these years of suffering, nobody pointed out to me
that I was clenching my teeth almost all the time and that
i had a malocclusion on my left side, causing me a constant
wear out of my jaw and consequent frequent inflammation of the trigeminal
nerve,
which caused migraine after migraine after migraine
when i was very stressed (and clenched more)
or when i was very stressed AND ate a lot of fat,
which as we know just make inflammation a lot worse..
now i'm going to focus on relaxing my jaw and do all i can
to work with the malocclusion, which i can no longer fix with braces at my
age,
nor do i want to, considering it's braces that made it all start for me!!
(the migraine).
i can't believe i had never realized that.
Migraines started when i put on braces at 18 and they got a lot worse
when I got my first upper wisdom teeth in an already crowded mouth.
(i have a small palate).
So now i'll have one of these teeth removed, cause on top of being
close to being fully eroded by bacteria and it started hurting me at night,
it's pushing the nearby teeth and i had a lot of migraines this month,
despite my best attempt at a super healthy diet, super low in fat etc.
and so i'll have the tooth out now and work on the jaw and teeth then but
i wonder..
is it dangerous?
i've read somewhere that the trigeminal nerve could be affected
and then i'd be in pain forever!!
i wonder if you ever heard of anyone in big troubles.
Mind you, my wisdom tooth is already ... it's not in the gums, it's out.
I think fully out, so it's probably less dangerous.
but still, anyone has any experience/advice to give?
Thank you..
