You are correct that cooked has a negative effect on B12.
I have never taught that absorption of nutrients is impaired as a result of eating cooked foods. What leads you to believe that someone eating cooked foods will absorb less than someone eating raw?
Most of the credible materials I have read on B12 clearly state that diet has not been shown to be an influential factor in determining who will, or won't, likely go B12 deficient, nor has diet been shown to be a factor in recovering from B12 deficiency.
