Hashimoto's, somewhat like diabetes I, is actually a condition with a huge spread of severity. Depending upon the severity of your condition, you may or may not be able to get off the meds. If not, be thankful that the meds exist. If possible, it is worth trying, at least a couple times, but gradually every time.
