In the States, you can ask to be informed when the fumigation will happen, and they will sometimes oblige to inform you. You can ask down in Mexico, and if you make friends with the right people, you might be notified, maybe. At least then you can make plans so as to not be caught unaware.

Dengue is not fun. I had it once. The story goes that the second time is worse, and often deadly.
