After 2 months of ignoring the gradually increasing pain in my left elbow, I decided to get it checked out. The doctor told me that I have 'tennis elbow'. I was advised to not perform any exercise that requires using my left arm for 4 - 6 weeks. She also gave me an anti-inflammatory cream and instructed me to take 1200mg of ibuprofen a day.
Needless-to-say, this has greatly impacted my daily exercise routine; e.g. no kickboxing, no strength training, no yoga, no boot camp. This has caused an increase in my stress levels.
So, I resigned to aerobic activity 3 days a week. I do use the cream and have tried taking the ibuprofen as directed for 3 days, but I just cannot accept taking medication. It also doesn't seem to be helping my condition.
After a week of this reduced aerobic activity, I have now caused my hip bursitis to flare up. Between the pain in my elbow and hip, it's getting unmanageable.
Now, considering both of my ailments are related to inflammation, is there some natural remedy that I can do to reduce it?
I have been transitioning from cooked vegan to 811 for 1 1/2 years. As of today, I'm on Day 13 of 100% 811RV. I don't own and can't afford a blender, food processor or even a good knife for that matter, so all my fruits and vegs are eaten in it's natural state. I use 1 small avocado as my salad dressing.
My daily fruit usually consists of: apples, pears, mangoes, bananas, dates, grapes, raisins, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, kiwi, oranges (only if I have nothing else - allergic to citrus).
My daily vegs: cucumbers, bok choy, spinach, arugula, baby lettuce, celery, red, yellow and orange peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots and avocado.
I consume 1500 - 1800 calories a day. I get about 7 hours of sleep a night, not much sunshine - sit in an office cubicle all day looking at computer screen, drink about 72oz water a day.
Please let know if maybe I'm eating something that could be causing or increasing inflammation in my body.
I just don't know what to do at this point. The one positive is that I've lost 8.5 lbs in these past 13 days of being 100% 811rv with little exercise...go figure! 10 more pounds to go.
Thank you for your support.
