Subject:	Causes of Appendicitis (appendix rupture)

Hey all,

Could someone tell me what are the real causes of appendix rupture and why
does it happen? Can we really live without our appendix if we were to get it
surgically removed? Several of my friends at various ages have had their
appendix removed. None of them eat an 811 diet, though one of my friends has
been a cooked vegan/vegetarian his whole life and recently had to get his
appendix removed because it ruptured.
