Wiki says that Durian is grown in Florida, so I emailed Jourdan Gray of Jourdon's Beautiful Food and asked him if it was true. The below correspondence is from yesterday, 2/12/12: Hi Jourdan, Thank you very much for your service. Are Durian grown in Florida, and if so, can they be shipped fresh to Ohio, and if so, how can I order them? Thank you, Hi Rick, Durian cannot be grown in the US. It's simply too cold in the winter here in Florida. We are working getting organic durian from right now and hope to make it available in the next couple of months. Jourdan I recently had my first taste of Black (Chocolate) Sapote, (ordering it from Jourdan’s), and it was wonderful. My second Black Sapote shipment will be here tomorrow. (I am patiently waiting for Mamey Sapote to come back in season, so I can have my first taste of that.) Getting fresh *organic* Durian, (again with Jourdan’s help), will be another dream come true. all the best, http://www.jourdansbeautifulfood.com/ Reply To This Post Return to Posts Index VegSource Home
