Subject:         Dr D - conventionally treated durian

Doug,

From a strictly chemical treatment standpoint (forgetting that it's inordinately high in fat), how bad do you think it is to consume durian? I imagine the thick shell could offer some protection from the extensive chemical treatment I have heard is used but how much protection is the question. Perhaps there's a greater degree of penetration in the formative stages of the fruit's growth when the shell might be less substantial. What do you think?
