Hi all,
I currently work 9-5 5 days a week. My commute into work is about an hour door to door and then the same back.
I currently rise around 5.50am. I spend around half an hour getting ready and then take my 2 dogs out for an hour or so. During that hour I take a camel bak filled with about 1.5 litres of water so I sip as I go round the walk - it works well and I get my water in first thing
I have a problem though - I normally vitamix up about 25 bananas plus up to 10 dates and some entertainment fruit (maybe raspberries) and take this with me to work. this fits into 2 40oz klean kanteens.
When i get to work the smoothies are frothy and brown - this becomes really unappetising and i think - is this sustainable? To be eating/drink such unappetising foods? I have no problem with a smoothie - its just the state it arrived in when i finally get to work and start drinking it. It tastes just bearable but not as good as fresh.
I cant lug 25 bananas to work - yes ive tried that one -they end up bruised.
I also find that taking 25 banana plus date smoothie is not enough to last me (it comes in at approximately 80oz of liquid). Per my weight i should be eating around 3000 calories a day. By the time im leaving for work im hungry and cooked food starts to tempt me. So the answer to this is to carb up! But being at work I have no access to more food. Ive just gone and purchased a couple of 64oz klean kanteens so ill be taking about 140oz of smoothie with me a day to completely knock back any cooked food growls from within... but again the smoothies will be brown. (I do not gain any weight if I increase my raw calories)
What should I do whilst I am in this situation? Does anyone know of any sealed container (apart from mason jars - i cant take glass) that will stop my smoothie turning brown? Or any solution to this? I even had a weekly fruit box delivered at work - but again the fruit quality was terrible for sky high prices!
What do others do if they have to hold down a normal job? How do you take so much food to work? Im determined to stay on this path but please... no more brown smoothie!!! :'-(
