Hi rog, For me, seeing a sports injury specialist (yes, both trained as chiropractors, but they have never done a chiropractic adjustment on me) has been invaluable. They were able to diagnose weaknesses, etc. that contributed to my injury and come up with a plan of action so I could not only rehabilitate the injury site, but correct the causes. I never would have guessed that my injury originated they way it did. Left to my own devices, I would have just kept trying to figure out how to heal the injury site without knowing what all went into and what caused it in the first place. I would have kept stretching more and more, which I came to find out was actually making things worse and targeting the wrong areas (the areas that hurt were not the causes). I'm no longer interested in fixing symptoms without getting down to the root cause and changing my lifestyle and addressing any imbalances to correct that. Pull-ups can be great provided that you are using proper form -- pulling up from the lats (back muscles) rather than the arms and shoulders. I certainly think it's worth while to get some professional guidance on how to perform your exercises correctly. A run analysis can be helpful for form as well. Just my opinions . . .
