I noticed that your question was not answered. This post, http://www.vegsource.com/talk/raw/messages/100030017.html, says that there are many types of hernias, so giving advice at this point is unwarranted. I would have a consultation with Doug Graham to help you make a decision about what to do. You'll have peace of mind because he won't promote unnecessary surgery.
