hi , im 33 male active surfer, hiker, etc. i twisted my knee one year ago and kept working. now i have seen the doc who sez possible torn meniscus. i went onto crutches 6 weeks ago and am feeling much better. i will probable pay to go to a physical therapist soon to help fix it.. but they are expensive. i purchased a foamroller after watching youtube.. and it reeally has helped since i began rolling out the i.t. band and hamstringe. my whole leg feels pulled. at the top of the calf etc. i have been icing and hotpaks and strectching out the hamstring. i think its getting better but i was wondering if you had any tips on foods to build cartilage or exercises that might help me heal. what is your opinion of ultrasound or infrared saunas? maybe i have i.t. band syndrome, because the pain has moved around my knee as it heals, first medial meniscus, the sub patellar, then back of the knee... maybe a bruised knee capsule? im not going to do surjury. i want to get a thighmaster to build up my adductors because it seems like the outside of my thigh is much stronger than the inside.
