In The New Rules of Lifting, Six Basic Moves for Maximum Muscle book, Alwyn Cosgrove includes a towel bicep curl in one program called the hypertrophy II program, workout C. However, he includes a mixture of pushes, pulls, and a twist to balance the muscles. There's a towel wrapped around the end of each dumbbell. While standing straight, you hold a towel in each hand with the dumbbells hanging from the towels. You keep your arms at your sides hanging down at your hips. You lift your forearms up while keeping your torso tight. You slowly lower your forearms. In the book, there's a picture of a model in the two positions so that you can visualize it.
