Hi KT1,
Thank you so very much for your kind words!
I do use hemp seeds sparingly, and really love them.
Unfortunately, hemp seeds will not move your overall O3 to O6 ratio toward an increased O3 bias. Hemp seeds have twice the O6 as O3. But...this is a much lower O6 bias than nuts and other seeds.
I want to say that I do not in any way intend to disparage the universe of overts outside of the couple of O3 biased overts, (flax and chia).
As I noted in the post...I came to low-fat raw-vegan with a serious history of mental illness. The vast majority of folks seem to not have trouble with the other overts. Seems most lfrv folks favor the fruity fat of avos ... and avos have a massive 14 to 1 O6 bias. But then, if you are doing 80/10/10...you aren’t going to be eating mass quantities of them!
I got into trouble using avos as my primary 80/10/10 overt for a 3 month span.
I would say my case is unusual...but I must believe that there are others with a similar makeup as mine...and others who can benefit from being mindful of the essential fatty acid (EFA) ratio. And quality studies are bearing this out...about a decade late for me...but better late than never.
So...if you are doing fine with your favorite overts, don’t sweat it.
My hope is my experience can help a few others who get into some rough sledding find a way out of the nightmare of mental illness.
all the best to you!
ric
