Do you have any idea why this happened to you?

You also mention about isolated absess-does this mean
absesses can spread to other teeth, or does the tooth
have to be decayed slightly for this to occur?

Does the body continually drain the abcess until the
tooth is removed?

I'm in my early 30's and all this started a year into transitioning to 811 along with 6 cavities that popped
up too. Previous to this I'd been problem free my
whole life-no cavities. Only thing I had done was
have my 2 widsom teeth out in my teens, as they were
crowding my top teeth. I will most likely have the tooth out, as half has already broken off and I am not keen on root canal, not to mention the expense - just hope I don't lose any other teeth.
