I'll start backwards.
#5. I'm not going to argue with you, but rather have
a discussion.
#4. Some would say that humans are designed for long
distance running. Christopher McDougall wrote the
book "Born to Run" and shares his theory. I don't
buy it 100%, though. Regardless, deadlift and squat
aren't functional, either. That doesn't mean they
aren't worthwhile to do for some purposes. (Wouldn't
running a long distance to some location be more
functional than standing in place going up and
down?)
#3. You're right, sugar is sugar. But insulin
doesn't break it down in the bloodstream or anywhere
else. It's a transportation hormone that transports
excess glucose out of the bloodstream and increases
conversion of glucose into glycogen for storage. The
stomach is responsible for breaking complex sugars
down into glucose (C6H12O6), but if the sugars
already exist in that form, they need no digestion.
This is textbook physiology, very basic stuff (I
actually literally just looked it up in a college
textbook).
#2. I don't know enough about triglyceride levels to
make any conclusions, but I'd like to hear what you
and others have to say.
#1. Well, good bench press = good bench press
strength. Someone training in only deadlift and
squat will lose in a bench press contest to a person
training in only benchpress, and vice versa. I don't
see where you're going with this as there are many
different forms of strength.
Cheeers,
