Annalise, Just Me, Dan, Harley, Jack... Thank you so much for your posts!!! Just Me: I want to thank you for all your posts. your comments are all pertinent and I have been very touched by their content. I wanted to write back to you but I have had so much work these last few days that I have not found the time to reply. Just a little precision: I have been running for 20 years so I am not a beginner at all. When I ran my 1st marathon last year I had been following a 10 week plan too so this is not new to me. Last year my base was 811 but the day before, I don't know, I stressed and ate differently, things like cooked carbs (risotto) and I found myself on the day having burpies of the cooked meal of the previous day. The fear of missing energy during the race probably... When I passed the finishing line I thought to myself "never again will I make the same mistake". So my challenge this year is to do an 811 marathon to see how different I feel. At week-ends I have a long run and as Just Me rightly suggested I must try out 811 fuel. I am not sure yet what to take with me (banana smoothie, medjool dates...) any advice tried and tested will be very welcome!!! Where I live it is very hilly which is good training. The problem is that when in my training I am to do a 1 hour run at 75% of my max heart beat, that is not possible for me because of my hilly environment. Depending on the hills my heart can go up to 100%!!! As for the rest, I have changed a few things in my planning so I go to bed earlier. Hopefully this way all the ingredients will be there to have a great race on 14th November :-)) Looking forward to your replies :-) Nectarine
