If you are discussing the topic, basing your conclusion on their premises isn't logical. I would recommend you enlighten them on biology and evolution and what that means in terms of things being hybrids or not. It's not a bad word. Once you can agree on the underlying premises then the conclusions are easier to reach. If you can't agree on the underlying premises then you're both running down rat holes. For example, if someone believes they were instructed by the Bible to eat corn fed cows, you probably won't get a lot of traction with them on evolution. The other thing you may keep in mind is how long did it take for the lightbulb to go off for you?
