I just think that, when people argue about whether or not modern fruit has been "hybridized", the source of confusion lies in the definition of the word. As was pointed out, there are several different definitions here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_(biology). If Doug is using definition #1 at that link, and some other raw fooder is using definition #2, that can explain the disagreement. Just because they disagree, it doesn't mean that one is "right", and the other is "wrong"...it just may mean that they are using the word differently, that's all.

I consider this somewhat important, because when Doug answers the hybrid concerns by saying "all plants are hybrids", that may be true according to the definition Doug is using, but not according to the definition the other person is using. Thus, when Doug answers like this, he may not have actually addressed their real concern, although it will sound like he has done so. Get my drift? :)
