Go for it.
So you've got a little over 2 months to train. What distances are you currently running? What's your longest run the last couple of weeks? Were you trying to follow 811 last year when you ran 4:18?

I've not run a marathon in many years...I've run about 15 or so. I ran a 2:55 on SAD at the age of 35. I ran a 3:06 eating mostly raw but not 811 in my early 40s w/ very little long distance training...i.e. only a couple of long runs (15 mis) before. I barely finished because of the lack of strength at the end.

I'm 57 now & follow 811 totally. But I play tennis & only run a few times per month...not enough time to excel in both. :) But I feel w/ proper training I could approach, perhaps even surpass, my best time.
I'd make sure I got carbs (fruit) in during my long runs & marathon race. I'd eat lots of tomatoes, celery, greens...for sodium. I'd run some hills in the last half of my 20 mile training runs.

Why not up your 75-80% eating 811? Take your own food when you eat w/ friends. You don't have to hurt yourself to socialize. Just a thought.
