I have no idea where you read what you remember reading, nor do I have any memory of having said or written such a thing as "get as many calories as you can from greens." I typically recommend that we get a range of calories from greens, depending upon a variety of factors, that keeps your intake averaging somewhere between 1-5% of calories. That is a fair quantity of greens. I have found that when people consistently consume more than about 6% of calories from greens, especially in the form of whole foods, that two things happen. One is that their overall calorie intake starts to drop, because there just isn't enough physical room for all those greens plus a lot of fruit, and then the second thing happens, which is that people get drawn, even driven, to eating a greater quantity of their overall calories from fatty foods such as nuts and seeds.
