I know guavas have a strong fragrance but at least to me it's a very pleasant one, sort of like fresh flowers. In fact when I was at the market buying them there was a young girl there asking how to eat them. She was interested in buying them just because of their wonderful fragrance, even without ever trying them before.

I had a few in a bag near my desk at work for my dinner. This one obese (still obese even after having the lap band surgery - but much less so) had to come into the office where I sit to speak to a coworker of mine. It was quite obvious she did not enjoy the scent of the guavas.

She then reported this to the manager who quickly called me into her office to discuss my terrible behaviour. I was warned not to consume fruit or bring it into the office. She also brought up another event many weeks ago when the cleaning staff put a bag with a hole in it, in my trash can and a lot of the fruit remains ended up staying in the trash can instead of getting thrown out with the bag for a few days. This of course started to ferment and gave off a terrible odor. Once I knew where the smell was coming from I immediately cleaned out the trash can and put it outside the office to dry. This could have happened with even the cooked food eaters if they had put something like cheese or bread in the trash, it would have smelled just as bad or worse, but since I am way different from all of them they made a big deal out of it.

I've been thinking about it for a long time now and I decided it's time to move on. Onto a new life!
