He has often clarified that 955 is 811, because 811 simply means a minimum of 80% of your kcals from carbs, and a max of 10% of your kcals from protein, and same for fat. No one eats 811 exactly every day, rather, it is an average over the course of a lifetime. That said, you don't necessarily have to average 811, you can average 911, and according to the parameters, it still fits the 811 mold. I think the greater issue is raising protein and fat above 10%, because that's when health deterioration begins. No studies to my knowledge have been done comparing fat/protein intakes at 10% compared with 5%, but my gut feeling tells me that health differences would be marginal, if even any difference at all. I think one reason for overt fat intake could be if extra calories are needed due to issues with maintaining weight, and whether a temporary or permanent fix, a little bit of overt fat can help to boost caloric intake a bit, as long as fruit still remains the staple. Of course, if you were debating between making a meal of avacado or mamey, mamey would be the better choice, but I'm sure a meal of avocado once in a while would be fine, though I've never done it, even after living at Pangaia in Hawaii for a month, where the land has at least 200 avo trees, probably at least 50 different varieties.
