You might try carrying a bag of really sweet dates, such as medjool dates, or a box of raisins (not a little box, either.) Eventually, you won't really need to fuel up during a marathon, but your muscles are not that great at holding glycogen at the moment. That will be part of your training effect. Congratulations on your HUGE accomplishments. Marathon distance is a big goal, and if for ANY reason you don't make it this Jan, I already have confidence that you WILL make it eventually. FWIW, the average, I believe, is that about 7-8 out of 10 finish each marathon they start. I have a good friend that has run 16 marathons. He has finished 13 of them. On the other three, various things forced him to stop. Such is life.
