My reference was for whole nuts. You can fit a whole lot more chopped nuts or small seeds into a 1/4 cup than you can fit whole nuts. Since nuts & seeds are generally sold by weight, it's not too hard to measure just how much is in a one-pound amount and go from there. And the calories/fat per ounce is easy to look up online for different foods. I wasn't recommending any particular amount, just stating that 1/4 cup of whole nuts is about 1 ounce in weight. I personally consume nuts/seeds less than 20 times a year, and would recommend that someone trying to lose fat cravings avoid them entirely for a while.
