How many days can we go without ingesting any overt fats? Is this dangerous or is it a good thing?

So far today I rose at 6 AM and it's now 3:20 PM and all I have eaten are fruits and some lettuce. Normally I've been overeating overt fats at lunch but I decided to skip the fats altogether today to see what it feels like. I am hoping my colon will be very happy about this.

I'm thinking I may need to go for a week or so without any fats and then possibly introduce them back in very small quantities.

I know Dr. D said in his book that the amount of fat should be about 15 almonds per day -- no more than that.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO MEASURE NUTS FOR EXAMPLE IN A MEASURING CUP? Would 15 almonds be about 1 oz in a measuring cup? Is 2 oz of nuts too much? I also remember he said you could skip a few days and then eat more fat on a particular day. But I'd rather just know what the suggested amount of nuts would be if I were to eat them daily as measured in a cup.

So basically I have 2 questions - - How many oz of nuts is the recommended daily amount if you measure them in a cup?
I know all nuts vary a bit but what would be the average?

How long can I safely go Cold turkey with no overt fats?

thanks for any help with this?

Dee
