You are not stuck. The race is no where as important as your health.
Take a few weeks off from running. See if walking irritates the hip. If
not, keep walking for fitness, instead. Walk fast. :)
If you are ready on race day, fine. If not, no worries. It's not like there
won't be future race days.

Remember, one of the three "R's" of goal setting is "resettable."
