I forgot to mention this new lithium ion battery just developed. It has a much higher energy density than the one used currently, in, for instance, the Chevy Volt. 61% more, as I recall, from reading the article. That means the Volt could go 64 miles on the battery alone. That might be a game changer for the Volt.
