Barrow Point records

... Third cold temperature record matched or broken within first
three days of February...

Friday's low temperature of 37 below matched the record for February
3d set back in 1947. This Marks the third day in a row within the
first three days of February that a cold temperature record has
either been matched or bested.

While no temperature records will be broken today as a warmer air
mass advances north across the Seward Peninsula, precipitation and
snowfall amounts will be monitored. The records for precipitation
and snowfall for February 4th in Nome are 0.44 and 5.0 inches
respectively.
