On this video between ~ 12:48 and 13:24 you see the Mars Rover Model being lowered and lifted from a helicopter. Over the last three years I built all the electronics for the wench and all the support electronics in the helicopter for this experiment. I was able to take my 17 year old son and my 15 year old daughter to Edwards Air Force Base for this flight, and they have never had more fun.
I have hundreds of pictures of all the electronics in the helicopter and I built them all!
It's so great to be a part of history, and I find it absolutely wonderful that my kids have been able to be there to see all the work I did and for them to be able to witness the flights and sit in Mission Control during the test flights.
My dad was a very successful business person but what he did will never go down in history books. My kids will have very different memories :-)
