Then try reading the text of PBS's documentary, "Secrets beneath the Ice", at pbs.org. That takes you back to when Antarctica started to freeze over, 34 million yrs ago. Then go back to the mass extinction of 250 million yrs ago. Climate scientists know a lot about that event as well.
