Well, on your point that a pope threw him in jail, you are absolutely right. I was watching a show on TV, or did I read about it? Anyway, the pope that threw him in prison was actually a friend of Galileo. The pope told him that his finding would likely lead many to abandon the church, and threaten the authority of the bible, and him, so he had to retract his findings, which, of course, Galileo refused to do.

Why would you label the 98% of dedicated scientists, from many disciplines, who have concluded with near 100% certainty that our greenhouse gases have caused the warming recorded over the last 50 years, as fanatics? The only fanatics are ones like yourself, who cling to the absurd idea that all those scientists are cooking the books, and are in it only for the money. Now they do need their incomes, but certainly are not getting to be millionaires, like, for instance Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and most of our politicians in Wash, DC. Those whores wouldn't know what a CO2 molecule looked like, if you drew them a picture of it. They know only about the money they can make, telling people that it's all a hoax.
