of your article....
"In a blind test, the AP gave temperature data to four independent statisticians and asked them to look for trends, without telling them what the numbers represented. The experts found no true temperature declines over time."
THEY WERE TO LOOK FOR TRENDS.... WOULDN'T THAT BE OF EITHER INCREASES OR DECREASES....YOU WOULD HAVE TO DEDUCE THAT THEY FOUND NEITHER... BUT NO ONE POINTED THAT OUT....HMMMM.... WHICH WOULD LEAD TO THE SECOND OBSERVATION.....
"If you look at the data and sort of cherry-pick a microtrend within a bigger trend, that technique is particularly suspect," said John Grego, a professor of statistics at the University of South Carolina.
HMMM.... I HAVE HEARD THIS ARGUMENT BEFORE AND AGAIN, IT CUTS BOTH WAYS.
ONE LAST OBSERVATION- 4 "INDEPENDENT OBSERVERS". NOW IF THE RESULTS WERE DIFFERENT, I KNOW THAT FAUX BARBARA/MARK WOULD BE COMPLAINING ABOUT WHETHER THEY WERE TRULY INDEPENDENT.
