I use the term "welfare" in this case not to mean food stamps for the poor, something the GOP adamantly opposed, but paying for crap in Red States that the Blue States pay for. For example, Alaska gets $4.81 cents from the Federal Government for every $1 they pay into the treasury. No wonder they in "good financial condition." They are carried by the rest of the country due to earmarks brought home by the GOP.

The Red States could not function except for the blue states carrying them. A state like NY gets only .23 of every dollar paid in taxes, because it has to subsidize lazy GOP red states.
