Go to a car parts store and buy a length of the smallest vacuum tubing they have (I think it's 7/32"). Cut off a strip about 1/2" too long so the 2 ends will butt securely when they meet. Tuck the strip bit by bit into the groove in the pressure cooker lid, going in circles until the whole strip has been swallowed up in the groove. That's your new gasket for pennies.
