I was a dealer for these knives, I started in l979, and I still own my demo set. Any knife will need to be sharpened, and I informed my clients of this, and that they would have to send them to the factory at a cost for shipping and handling. In l980, my kitchen caught fire, these same knives can through this fire with flying colors. The blades did not tarnish, and the handles did not melt, only thing I lost was the cases they were stored in. Yes these knives do cost, but given my experience, they are well worth the money.
