You can use an inner pot on a stand in a water bath, the first pressure setting, and turn the heat down when it reaches pressure. The other thing is to allow the pot to cool slowly. This reduces the amount of bubbling inside the pot which otherwise creates foaming. Whilst this reduces the amount of time spent with the burner on it also lengthens the cooking time somewhat. A good recipe is 1 cup red lentils, 6 cherry tomatoes halved, 1/4 tsp hing/asafoetida, 1 dried chilli crushed, 1 tsp salt, 1 crushed cardammon pod, 1 Tbsp butter, toasted flaked almonds, 2 cups water. Serve with toasted shredded coconut. Pressure setting 2 for 5-8 minutes. I overcooked it so it turned into a mashed potato consistency and needed some water to be added on serving but the flavour was very satisfying. Good luck
