I too have a lovely "legacy" Aeternum and have kept a "gasket-like-thingy" going in it for years using a homemade ring of hard silicone caulking compound cast into the gasket space, WELL cured (or it will seal your pot forever!) As for the safety plug, I found a Presto one that fit and works fine... But now I want a REAL Aeternum seal....
